Our day camp directors have a combined total of 25+ years of camp leadership experience. Our counselors and program specialists are carefully selected based on their maturity and proven ability to be positive role models for your child(ren). These counsellors and program specialists are not only skilled, but each has a sincere and specific desire to work with, support, and guide children.

We, at YMCA Southcoast are here to help you in selecting the right camp for your child(ren). We welcome you to visit any or all of our 6 day campsites and talk directly with our camp directors and staff. We are confident that by visiting our camps, you’ll feel the sense of security that comes with knowing that while you are hard at work, your children will be spending their summer days learning, growing and having fun under the watchful and nurturing eyes of our dedicated camp staff. This camp must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the local board of health.

Camp Frederick Douglass

Daily activities include gym and outdoor games, swimming, rock climbing, archery, drama, enrichment activities and so much more. Camp Frederick Douglass at the New Bedford YMCA honors the legacy of world-renowned African-American social reformer, abolitionist, orator, writer, and statesman, Frederick Douglass. In addition to our traditional camp games and activities, campers will learn about Frederick Douglass and the history of his time in the city of New Bedford through daily projects, field trips, museum visits, and hands-on activities.

Located on the beautiful Mattapoisett Harbor, Camp Massasoit has provided a premier summer camp experience to generations of families since 1962. Focused on the development of our campers, as individuals and as a group, Camp Massasoit nurtures today’s children into tomorrow’s leaders.
Offering traditional camp experiences such as archery, swimming, and boating alongside innovative programming like sailing, kayaking, and our challenge course with rock wall and zip line features allows our highly qualified staff the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the potential of every camper. Legendary theme days/weeks, zany camp songs, and skits create a camp spirit and community filled with tradition and fun! Summer after summer, campers develop new skills and lifelong friendships at Camp Massasoit.

Camp Metacomet offers an ideal setting for all campers to explore, learn skills, develop character, and create lasting memories with new friends. Camp Metacomet is located on 58 acres of ecologically diverse land, with an outdoor pool and plenty of opportunities to play.
Traditional camp activities include archery, sports, adventure challenge, rock climbing, arts and crafts, swimming, and a variety of team-oriented games. We also offer specialty camps for campers interested in the arts, cooking, sports, or engineering. Specialty Camp curriculum is carefully designed to deliver well-rounded programming and incorporate experiential learning.

Camp Nep-In-Nae is located at the Gleason Family YMCA. We offer a wide variety of camp activities, with our main features being our outdoor and indoor swimming pools, outdoor high and low ropes course, indoor climbing wall, and full-size gymnasium.
Camp Nep-in-Nae provides a traditional outdoor summer camp experience with our woods-based camp, recently updated archery range, hiking trails, and storybook trail for our youngest campers. We have a greater focus on specialty camps than ever before, providing campers an opportunity to share their passion and build relationships with staff and other campers.

Camp Quequechan offers campers two great facilities for the price of one. Campers are transported daily to our outdoor facility in Swansea located on 36 acres of beautiful land. Children are grouped by age and rotate through activities such as archery, theater and dance, art, STEM, nature, high and low ropes courses, and daily traditional sports and camp games.
In the afternoon campers are transported back to the Fall River YMCA to enjoy our swimming pool, games, snack, and an opportunity to unwind from an AWESOME camp day. Camp Quequechan gives children the chance to explore, try new things, and create lifelong friendships. We can’t wait to see you this summer!

Located on 36 acres of beautiful land in Swansea, Camp Weetamoe features state-of-the-art sports fields, an Adventure Course, and a splash pad. Campers will spend each day rotating through a number of activities, including sports, arts and crafts, high and low ropes elements, archery, and everything else Stoico/FIRSTFED YMCA has to offer.
For those with more particular interests, we offer specialty camps, too. Specialty camps spend approximately 50% of their day focused on their special interest. Specialty offerings include Dance, Acro, Cheerleading, Basketball, Soccer, and more. Check the camp brochure for specific offerings this summer.
